Air Chief Marshal Prajin Juntong, Deputy Prime Minister presides over Thailand Energy Awards 2018 and hands over the award for Outstanding Designated Factory in Energy Conservation to Mr. Manin Inprom, Vice President of Manufacturing of Sahaviriya Steel Industries Plc. (SSI) at Queen Sirikit National Convention Center on 27 August 2018. Thailand Energy Awards 2018 was held by Department of Alternative Energy Development and Efficiency, Ministry of Energy with an aim to award organizations and persons that support alternative energy development and energy conservation

10SSI Beach Clean Up 2018

Sahaviriya Steel Industries Plc. (SSI) joined hands with Mae Rumphueng Sub-district Administrative Organization, schools, government agencies, local entrepreneurs, hotels, resorts located in Mae Rumphueng Beach areas including Bangsaphan volunteers participated in the “10th SSI Beach Clean-up Activity” on the occasion of the World Environment Day under the concept of Beat Plastic Pollution“If you can’t reuse it, refuse it”. The objective of this project is to stimulate public awareness on environmental crisis, natural resources conservation, optimization on usage of resources and reduction of garbage volume. Activities performed including beach cleaning, collecting littering garbage along Mae Rumphueng Beach, Bangsaphan District for a distance of 3 kilometers long and improving landscape of public-park at the beachside. Mrs. Nitcha Kongnil, Senior Assistant District Officer of Bang Saphan District, graciously presided this activity. For this year, there were 995 people participated and about 2,290 kilograms of garbage could be collected.


SSI Group led by Mr. Padungsak Pranudomrat Assistant Vice President – Group Sustainable Development and Communication of Sahaviriya Steel Industries Plc. (SSI), arranged “SSI Group ARSA” at Ban Don Samran school, Bangsaphan, Prachuap Khirikhan. The management team and staff from SSI Group together with the local people participated in this program. The objective of this event is to build a good relationship between the company and communities. The works of volunteer consist mainly of painting school fences and buildings, and beautifying the surrounding scenery. Mrs. Nitcha Kongnil, Senior Assistant District Officer of Bang Saphan District, graciously presided this activity.

SSI Signs Sponsorship Agreement

Mr.Yongyuth Malithong, Vice President-Group Sustainable Development of Sahaviriya Steel Industries Plc. (SSI), signs the agreement as the title sponsor of “Sahaviriya Bangkok Triathlon 2018” with Dr. Suleemas Suthisamphat, Triathlon Organizing Committee Chairman and the representative of Foundation for Life Development Under the Patronage of H.R.H Princess Galyani Vadhana Krom Luang Naradhiwas Rajanagarindra (FLDP).  Contribution funds, raised from the event will be used to support and enhance the work of FLDP in order to improve the quality of life for the people.  The “Sahaviriya Bangkok Triathlon 2018” will be held on Rama VIII Bridge on 7-8 July 2018.

Mr. Padungsak Pranudomrat, Assistant Vice President, Group Sustainable Development and Communication, Sahaviriya Steel Industries Public Co., Ltd. (“SSI”), represented SSI to deliver the Sufficiency Economy in School for Sustainable Development Project to Mr. Jongrak Watsati, Director of Ban Tung Chueak School, Ronthong Sub-district, Bangsaphan District, Prachuab Khirikhan Province. The school committee, community leaders and the students’ parents also participated in and jointly congratulated at this event. The objectives of this project are to promote the right knowledge and understanding on sufficiency economy principle in schools and communities in order to create prototype sufficiency economy learning center in schools on sustainable basis as well as to help school reduce food costs. Other benefits of this project are that it can generate income to the students who participated in this activity and the students can apply knowledge gained for benefits of livelihood in their daily life.

1-SSI Group Arranged Fulfill the Dream and Share Knowledge Project

Sahaviriya Group cooperated with Bangsaphan Wittaya School on arrangement of “Fulfill the Dream and Share Knowledge” project to prepare readiness of Bangsaphan local youth for admission to university by strengthening their academic knowledge and skills in 5 major subjects (Science-Mathematic-English-Thai-Sociology). Total 368 senior high school students (Matayom 6) from 4 schools located in Bangsaphan District and nearby areas, i.e. Bangsaphan Wittaya School, Chaikasem Wittaya School, Thanakan Omsin School and Bangsaphan Noi Wittayakom School participated in this project which was held at the Meeting Hall, Bang Saphan Wittaya School.

Provision of senior project funds under "SSI for Young Engineers" Program, the 1st year


Mr. Nava Chantanasurakon, Vice President – Commercial, Sahaviriya Steel Industries Public Co., Ltd. or "SSI" provided 7 senior project funds on structural steel, each with 10,000 Baht under "Structural Steel Improvement (SSI) for Young Engineers 2017" to the qualified engineering students of Faculty of Engineering, Department of Civil Engineering from Chulalongkorn University, Kasetsart University, King Mongkut's University of Technology Thonburi and Srinakharinwirot University. This program is aimed to encourage the engineering students who will become the engineers or the entrepreneurs in construction industries in the future to develop innovation and knowledge on efficiently and environmental friendly usage of structural steel which can contribute to development of the steel and construction industries and subsequent to the infrastructural industries of the country.

In addition, after the research has been completed, the SSI for Young Engineers Program will provide additional fund of 10,000 Baht and the most outstanding research work which will be decided by the expert committee will receive a fund of 20,000 Baht as a reward.
