Outcome from determination to operate business according to ESG guidelines and to drive Thailand to Carbon Neutrality, SSI’s hot rolled coil pickled & oiled (HRC P/O) has been certified with the Carbon Footprint Label.
The Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management Organization (Public Organization) or TGO certified Carbon Footprint Label for hot rolled coil pickled & oiled (HRC P/O) of Sahaviriya Steel Industries PLC or SSI because it is the product which has environmentally-friendly processes, beginning from the process of raw material procurement, production, product distribution, usage and waste management after expiration including the relevant transportation.
Earlier, the 2 following SSI’s products had been certified with the Carbon Footprint Label: 1) Hot rolled steel sheet in coil, and 2) Steel square tube.
Carbon footprint label can make the consumer know information on greenhouse gas emission amount throughout its lifetime cycle of the product which can help the consumer make decision and stimulate the entrepreneur to adjust the production technology to be more environmentally-friendly. Usage of carbon footprint can also enhance competitive edge in the world markets.
